Grunt

Grunt is a Krogan warrior, built from the genetics of the greatest warriors in Krogan history. He doesn't really have a personality, a driving conflict, relationships, or... really anything. Plus, his awful name makes it very hard to take him seriously.

"Don't stop. I'm almost experiencing an emotion."

Okay, let's be fair to Grunt. He's not a non-character in concept, at least. He's very young, having his aging accelerated and all of his life experiences through a sort of VR. He has no place in the world. He's got a great set up for some existential crises.

Grunt's dialog is very well written. When he talks about the images and experiences he had while in the tank, it comes across as very alien – but also very natural. He's also intimidatingly large, even among Krogan, which is a good touch to his design.

But that's honestly all there really is to say about Grunt. His side quest involves shooting some things and getting inducted into a clan, but you never really feel like he is driven to be part of Krogan society. He just sort of stands around. At least his set up is more interesting than Jacob's, even if his execution isn't.
